Green Bean Casserole with Worcestershire Sauce Recipe

Green Bean Casserole with Worcestershire Sauce

Green bean casserole with Worcestershire sauce is a creamy and savory dish made with green beans, cream of mushroom soup, and Worcestershire sauce, and topped with crispy fried onions for a crunchy finish.

Ingredients

    • Fresh or frozen green beans: 1 lb, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces

    • Cream of mushroom soup: 1 can (10.5 oz)

    • Milk: ½ cup

    • Worcestershire sauce: 2 tablespoons

    • Garlic powder: ½ teaspoon

    • Salt and pepper: To taste

    • Crispy fried onions: 1½ cups

    • Butter: 1 tablespoon (optional, for greasing the dish)

Instructions

Prepare the Green Beans

Blanch the green beans in boiling water for 3-4 minutes, then transfer them to an ice bath to stop cooking. Drain and set aside.

Make the Sauce

In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.

Assemble the Casserole

Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter. Spread the blanched green beans evenly in the dish. Pour the sauce mixture over the beans and stir gently to coat.

Add the Topping

Sprinkle 1 cup of crispy fried onions evenly over the casserole.

Bake the Casserole

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the casserole for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbling and heated through.

Finish with More Crunch

Remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of crispy fried onions on top. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the onions are golden and crispy.
