    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

    • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika

    • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Step 1: Make a roux

    • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

    • Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the mixture is golden and smooth.

Step 2: Add the milk

    • Gradually pour in the milk while whisking to prevent lumps.

    • Cook the mixture for 3-4 minutes, or until it thickens slightly.

Step 3: Melt the cheese

    • Reduce the heat to low and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.

    • Mix until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.

Step 4: Add the jalapeno flavor

    • Stir in the chopped jalapenos, jalapeno juice, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.

    • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
