Fazoli’s Baked Spaghetti is a layered pasta dish combining al dente spaghetti, marinara sauce, and a blend of cheeses, baked to perfection. It’s a delicious and satisfying meal that’s both hearty and flavorful.

For the Pasta:

    • 12 ounces spaghetti

    • 1 tablespoon salt (for boiling water)

For the Sauce:

    • 3 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)

    • 1/2 pound ground beef or Italian sausage (optional)

    • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

    • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

    • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Cheese Layer:

    • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

    • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

    • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese (optional, for added creaminess)

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the spaghetti

    • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add salt and spaghetti, cooking according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Step 2: Prepare the sauce

    • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or Italian sausage (if using) over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.

    • Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-10 minutes.

Step 3: Layer the dish

    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    • In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer half of the cooked spaghetti. Spread half of the sauce evenly over the pasta. Sprinkle with half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

    • Repeat the layers with the remaining spaghetti, sauce, and cheeses. Dot with ricotta cheese if using.

Step 4: Bake

    • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 5: Serve

    • Let the baked spaghetti rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
