Ingredients

Scale

For the Meatloaf:

    • 2 pounds ground beef (80/20 blend)

    • 1 cup breadcrumbs

    • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped

    • 2 large eggs

    • 1/2 cup milk

    • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

    • 1 teaspoon salt

    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For the Glaze:

    • 1/2 cup ketchup

    • 1/4 cup brown sugar

    • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat and prepare

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

    • Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2: Mix the meatloaf ingredients

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the meatloaf tender.

Step 3: Shape the meatloaf

    • Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan. Shape it evenly, pressing gently to ensure it holds together.

Step 4: Prepare the glaze

    • In a small bowl, whisk together ketchup, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard until smooth. Reserve half of the glaze for serving.

Step 5: Apply the glaze and bake

    • Spread half of the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

    • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Step 6: Rest and serve

    • Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with the reserved glaze on the side.
