Zippy’s Mac Salad Recipe

Zippy’s Mac Salad is a Hawaiian-style macaroni salad made with cooked pasta, mayonnaise, and a few simple seasonings, delivering a creamy and flavorful side dish.

Ingredients

    • Elbow macaroni: 2 cups

    • Mayonnaise: 1 cup (preferably Best Foods or Hellmann’s)

    • Milk: ¼ cup

    • Apple cider vinegar: 1 tablespoon

    • Sugar: 1 teaspoon

    • Carrot: 1 medium, grated

    • Celery: 1 stalk, finely chopped

    • Salt and pepper: To taste

Instructions

Cook the Macaroni

    1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

    1. Add elbow macaroni and cook until tender, about 10-12 minutes.

    1. Drain and rinse with cold water. Let cool completely.

Prepare the Dressing

    1. In a large mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, milk, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Whisk until smooth and creamy.

Mix the Salad

    1. Add the cooked and cooled macaroni, grated carrot, and chopped celery to the dressing.
